The Faces Behind WildChild Occupational Therapy
Dr. Jocelyn McKinley, OTD, OTR/L, is the founder and owner of WildChild Occupational Therapy, bringing over 8 years of specialized experience in pediatric occupational therapy. A proud graduate of The Ohio State University, Dr. Jocelyn earned both a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences with a minor in Psychology and a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. Throughout her academic journey, she developed a deep passion for childhood development, particularly in sensory integration. Her doctoral capstone at Nationwide Children's Hospital focused on social skills interventions for children with autism spectrum disorder, shaping her passion for fostering social development through sensory play. Since then, she has provided individualized, family-centered care in both hospital-based and private outpatient clinics. In addition to providing individual therapy for children aged birth-18 years, Jocelyn’s career includes running social skills groups for kids with a variety of age groups and abilities.
With WildChild, Dr. Jocelyn combines her expertise in pediatric occupational therapy and sensory processing to create a nurturing space where families can learn and grow together. She is dedicated to educating parents on how to best support their child's sensory needs, helping promote regulation and emotional well-being. Driven by a belief that the “wild” spirit of children should be celebrated and guided, she strives to empower families to channel this energy into meaningful developmental milestones. Outside of her work, Dr. Jocelyn enjoys life in Upper Arlington with her husband, their son Malcolm, and their pets, Nala the cat and Rooster the puppy.
